About This Role

As we expand in Southeast Asia, we are eager to find passionate candidates to fill the Deputy Principal position at our Invictus International Schools in the region, specifically in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Roles and Responsibilities
This role involves a blend of academic, management, and administrative responsibilities. The Deputy Principal will collaborate closely with the School Principal in the following key areas:

1. Teaching & Learning


Foster a learning environment that encourages student achievement and support.


Design and implement appropriate learning and curriculum programs tailored to the needs of all students, along with effective timetabling.


Encourage exceptional teaching and learning practices throughout the school.


Contribute to the development of school curriculum and assessment policies.


Create systems for tracking individual student progress and ensure regular communication with parents about their children’s academic development.


Assist the Principal in overseeing and evaluating teaching and learning practices and in formulating improvement plans.

2. Leadership – School Development


Support the Principal in defining the educational goals and objectives of the school and in crafting strategies to achieve these aims.


Aid the Principal in coordinating the school’s plans and policies for approval by the Academic Board, Examination Board (if applicable), and Board of Management.


Mentor school staff and guide them in reaching the school’s objectives and plans.

3. Management – People & Teams


Cultivate positive working relationships with the Principal, colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.


Show respect to all staff and nurture positive interactions.


Promote a collaborative working atmosphere.


Assist the Principal in staff development initiatives and identifying staffing needs for both teaching and support roles.

4. Communication


Establish efficient communication channels with students, staff, parents, and colleagues.


Implement school policies with a clear understanding of their purposes.

5. Organizational and Administrative Management


Support the Principal in managing the daily operations of the school, including planning and overseeing the daily class schedule.


Assist the Principal in handling student behavior, promoting good conduct, and supervising transitions between classes.


Oversee the roster for absent teachers and the management of substitute teaching staff.


Help the Principal with supervision during breaks and lunch.


Assist the Principal with morning supervision before school starts.


Participate in open house events and award ceremonies.


Aid in the enrollment and assessment process for the Year 1 cohort.


Help ensure the security of the school facilities and the safeguarding of its property.


Handle routine correspondence and prepare reports as requested by the Board of Management.


Coordinate and set up external examinations as necessary.

6. Self-Awareness and Self-Management


Recognize the significance of the Principal/Deputy Principal relationship, the connections with other members of the school community, and the overall impact of positive working relationships.


Model high standards of professional interactions and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.


Be aware of personal skills and be open to seeking advice and support when needed.


Always uphold professional integrity, including discretion, confidentiality, loyalty, and trustworthiness.

Requirements:


A Bachelor’s degree in Education/Teaching or an equivalent qualification recognized by the CPE/MOE in Singapore, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.


Preferably holding a higher degree or recognized professional qualification such as PGDE or PGCE.


Proof of ongoing relevant professional development.


A Teacher’s License (NIE certification) or QTS is preferred.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
