About This Role

The Position

• You will be responsible for teaching computing across all school levels, collaborating on curriculum design, and preparing and delivering lessons and activities as outlined by the Academic Department, ensuring adherence to King’s curriculum standards.
- You will monitor student behavior and foster a respectful classroom environment.
- You will track student progress and evaluate their work.
- You will prepare reports and engage with parents as necessary.
- You will maintain an accurate and efficient attendance register for the class.
- You will supervise play and lunch periods as instructed.

• Your commitment to student welfare will be paramount:
- You will join one of the School’s Houses, participating in activities associated with it.
- You will ensure compliance with the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
- You will communicate with the Senior Leadership Team and parents as needed.
- You will responsibly fulfill weekly boarding duties in accordance with the School’s policies and expectations.

• You will enhance the School’s extracurricular offerings through activities, clubs, and more, covering areas such as:
- sports
- arts
- academic enrichment
- outdoor activities

• You will undertake additional appropriate responsibilities as assigned by the School’s Leadership Team, including:
- collaborating with marketing and admissions efforts
- participating in staff meetings and professional development sessions
- attending school-wide events like Foundation Day
- serving on school committees

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
• A master’s degree from an overseas institution is preferred.
• Proficient command of English, with the ability to deliver curriculum content effectively in English.
• Proficiency in coding is essential.
• Familiarity with the CAIE IGCSE/A A-level curriculum requirements is advantageous.
• Experience with an inquiry-based teaching approach is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience is required, ideally in international schools offering IGCSEs and A levels or the IB curriculum.
• Experience leading computer or coding clubs, after-school programs, and participating in external competitions is a plus.
• A collaborative team player who actively engages in co-planning and curriculum development.
