About This Role

British International School Hanoi is seeking to hire a Secondary Learning Support Coordinator to join our accomplished and dedicated team of educators starting in August 2025.

The Learning Support Coordinator is responsible for leading a team of committed Learning Support Assistants who provide assistance to students with Special Education Needs (SEN) and those identified as Most Able (MA). This role includes delivering both in-class and specialized support to enhance learning outcomes. The Coordinator will work closely with the English as an Additional Language (EAL) team and the Social-Emotional Counsellor, all situated in the school’s newly opened Inclusion Centre. Collaborating with pastoral and teaching staff, this position is pivotal in addressing a wide array of student needs, creating a secure and ambitious environment where every student can excel. The Learning Support Coordinator will report to the Deputy Head of Secondary and will have the support of a teaching assistant.

Purpose of the role:

- To assist designated students with Special Education Needs (SEN) and Most Able (MA), including both push-in and pull-out support when necessary.
- To foster high-quality inclusive teaching and learning practices across all school activities, ensuring that all Secondary School students can access, thrive, and respond to personalized academic challenges within our learning environment.
- To work collaboratively with teachers through joint planning, sharing effective strategies, preparing differentiated resources, and engaging in small group or team teaching to enhance learning outcomes for students receiving learning support.

Our teachers:

- Provide exceptional teaching and learning experiences, ensuring every student is challenged, progresses, and flourishes in a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning setting.
- Are committed to understanding students thoroughly, ensuring that learning is tailored to enable students to take the next step in their educational journey.
- Continuously seek opportunities for innovation, experimenting with new teaching and learning strategies in the classroom, and contributing to a culture of exploration and risk-taking.
- Prioritize the well-being of students at all times and proactively safeguard them in accordance with school safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Skillfully incorporate learning technology into their practice, selecting the most suitable tools to enhance the educational experience.
- While international school experience, particularly an IB background, is preferred, it is not mandatory for application.
