Key Responsibilities:

- Foster a learning environment that promotes exceptional educational practices.
- Define clear teaching and learning goals.
- Design engaging tasks that stimulate student interest and challenge them appropriately.
- Establish high expectations and targets that build on students’ prior achievements.
- Recognize students with special educational needs or exceptional abilities, ensuring their requirements are met through differentiated instruction.
- Provide structured lessons that maintain momentum, motivation, and challenge.
- Utilize assessment effectively to enhance learning.
- Leverage performance data and key indicators for lesson planning, ensuring effective differentiation.
- Uphold discipline according to the school’s ‘Behaviour for Learning Policy,’ encouraging punctuality, positive behavior, high standards of work, and homework completion.
- Employ diverse teaching methods to:
i. Tailor approaches to content, organize information, present key concepts, and use suitable vocabulary.
ii. Implement effective questioning techniques, listen attentively to students, and address errors and misconceptions.
iii. Choose appropriate learning resources and foster study skills through various technologies, including the library and ICT.
- Evaluate the success of learning objectives and utilize insights to improve teaching methods.
- Provide feedback on students' work bi-weekly and set targets for their advancement.
- Use performance data to inform lesson planning, ensuring continuous enhancement of learning and teaching.
- Systematically assess and document student progress, maintaining records to monitor comprehension and completion, identify strengths and areas for growth, and inform future planning.
- Conduct assessments as required by examination boards and school policies.
- Prepare and deliver informative reports to parents.
- Contribute to subject development through the creation, review, and updating of curriculum plans and teaching schemes.
- Stay current with subject knowledge through continuous professional development and reading.
- Participate in relevant professional development workshops.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or Vice Principal.

You should be a fully qualified teacher with:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Biology Education.
- At least two years of post-graduate teaching experience.
- Familiarity with the American curriculum.
- A dedication to an extensive enrichment program.
- Active involvement in extra-curricular activities.
- Respect for every member of the school community.
- Experience working with students for whom English is an additional language.
- A positive, solution-oriented attitude.
- A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services or Police check.
