Collegio San Carlo is a distinguished independent Catholic institution, celebrated for its rich history and commitment to education, having recently celebrated its 150th Anniversary in 2019. This role offers a unique opportunity to become part of a relatively new and small International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme within a well-established school (K-yr 13) that serves almost 2000 students.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is one of five educational tracks available at the high school level, designed to prepare our students for global academic pursuits.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and qualified educator to join our International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme team. The successful candidate will primarily teach Mathematics Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level, along with IB Diploma Computer Science at both levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in IB Mathematics AA HL and Computer Science, ensuring compliance with IB standards, assessment criteria, and syllabus requirements while addressing the individual educational needs of students.
- Actively promote and model the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning (ATLs).
- Assess student work using a variety of strategies, provide constructive feedback, and prepare students for both internal and external IB evaluations.
- Support students through the Advisory programme, offering personalized academic guidance and fostering independent learning during tutorial sessions.
- Facilitate workshops aimed at skill enhancement to ensure students acquire the technical competencies and knowledge essential for the IB Diploma Programme and future endeavors.
- Supervise Extended Essays in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields, assisting students in their research, methodology, and writing processes.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences, progress reporting, and collaborative planning efforts with colleagues.
- Contribute to departmental meetings, curriculum development, and extracurricular programs as necessary.
- Carry out administrative and organizational responsibilities related to the programme, such as reporting and unit planning.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- IB teaching certification or a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, BEd, or Italian equivalents).
- Proven experience teaching IB Mathematics AA HL and IB Computer Science (a minimum of 3 years is preferred).
- In-depth understanding of the IB Diploma Programme philosophy, assessment practices, and learner profile.
- Native English speaker or C2 level proficiency in English.
- Preference will be given to candidates eligible to work in Italy/EU (e.g., EU citizenship, valid visa, or permesso di soggiorno).
