IBDP/HSD Biology/ESS Specialist Teacher

About the Role

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic educator specializing in Biology and Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS), committed to igniting curiosity and fostering a love for scientific exploration among students in Grades 9–12. This role will also involve teaching General Science to students in Grades 6–8 and contributing significantly to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and the broader school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction in General Science (Grades 6–8) as well as Biology and/or ESS (Grades 9–12) as part of the High School Diploma and/or IB Diploma Programme.
  • Create engaging and high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students across all ability levels.
  • Innovatively design lesson plans, assess student comprehension effectively, and leverage data to improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Engage in the ongoing development of the Science Department, including creating work schemes and collaborating on subject resources.
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students while maintaining high academic standards.
  • Ensure effective and professional communication with students, colleagues, parents, and school leaders.
  • Uphold excellent standards of classroom management and student conduct in alignment with school policies.
  • Participate in the wider school community through extracurricular activities, curriculum events, and enrichment programs.
  • Promote and embody the school’s values, safeguarding commitments, and high professional standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant field in Biology / Environmental Science.
  • A valid teaching certification that aligns with the Qatar MoEHE requirements.
  • Proven experience teaching Biology and/or ESS within the High School Diploma, IB Diploma Programme, and/or A Level. (Experience with IB DP Biology and/or ESS is particularly beneficial.)
  • A comprehensive understanding of curriculum design, assessment techniques, and differentiated instruction methodologies.
  • A strong passion for fostering students’ intellectual curiosity and engagement beyond the standard curriculum.
  • A positive, collaborative, and proactive team member committed to continuous professional growth.
  • Outstanding classroom management and communication skills.
