We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to take on the role of Coordinator for our Head Start Program.
Position Summary:
The Head Start Program Coordinator will oversee the implementation and management of the program, ensuring it effectively addresses the developmental, educational, and cultural needs of children aged 0-5 years. This role requires a strong grasp of early childhood education principles, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to community involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate curricula and activities for children enrolled in the Head Start Program.
- Supervise and mentor program staff, offering guidance and training as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with families to encourage their involvement and engagement in the program.
- Collaborate with community organizations and resources to enhance program offerings and support families.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to program activities, enrollment, and funding requirements.
- Organize and conduct workshops, training sessions, and community events to promote early childhood education and cultural awareness.
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education Certificate (required).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education or program coordination.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, and community needs is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with data management systems.
