Position Overview:
We invite passionate candidates to express their interest in the role of Dean of Students, who will champion student wellbeing, promote a positive school culture, and enrich the vibrant community at Dubai American Academy, with positions available starting in August 2026. This role presents an exciting chance for a Dean of Students dedicated to fostering student development, inspiring achievement, and enhancing the wellbeing of every student at DAA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support student wellbeing, behavior, and engagement throughout the school, aligning with the institution's values and policies.
- Design and execute effective pastoral strategies that encourage positive behavior, inclusion, and a strong sense of community.
- Collaborate closely with Heads of Year, Counsellors, and teaching staff to provide consistent and supportive care for students and manage behavior effectively.
- Ensure continuity and consistency in pastoral systems, including attendance, safeguarding, and student support processes.
- Monitor and assist students with varying social, emotional, and behavioral needs, coordinating interventions as necessary.
- Promote a positive, inclusive school culture that values respect, responsibility, and student voice.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for parents regarding student wellbeing, behavior, and pastoral issues, ensuring clear and proactive communication.
