Responsibilities include:
- Fostering a learning environment conducive to exceptional teaching practices
- Establishing clear teaching and learning objectives
- Designing tasks that challenge students and maintain high engagement levels
- Setting rigorous and appropriate expectations
- Defining clear targets based on prior student performance
- Recognizing and addressing the needs of students with special educational needs (SEN) or high ability through differentiated instruction
- Structuring lessons effectively to maintain pace, motivation, and challenge
- Utilizing assessment for learning strategies effectively
- Analyzing performance data and key indicators to inform lesson planning and deliver tailored instruction
- Upholding discipline in line with the school’s ‘Behaviour for Learning Policy’ while promoting good practices in punctuality, behavior, work standards, and homework completion
- Employing diverse teaching strategies to:
- Align methods with content, organize information, highlight key concepts, and use appropriate terminology
- Implement effective questioning, actively listen to students, and address errors and misconceptions
- Select suitable learning resources and enhance study skills utilizing library, ICT, and other learning technologies
- Evaluating the achievement of learning objectives and using this information to enhance specific teaching aspects
- Grading student work at least bi-weekly and establishing progress targets
- Utilizing performance data to inform planning and ensure that learning and teaching continually add value
- Systematically assessing and documenting students' progress, maintaining records to verify understanding and completion, monitoring strengths and areas for improvement, informing lesson planning, and recognizing achievement levels
- Conducting assessments as required by examination bodies and school procedures
- Preparing and presenting informative reports to parents
- Participating in subject development by crafting, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
- Keeping current with subject knowledge through continuous professional development and professional literature
- Attending relevant professional development workshops
- Taking on additional responsibilities as directed by the Principal or Vice Principal.
Candidates must be fully qualified teachers with:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies or Economics along with a Teaching qualification
- At least two years of postgraduate teaching experience
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to holistic child education
- Recent and consistent participation in extracurricular activities
- Respect for all members of the school community
- Experience with students for whom English is a second language
- A positive, solution-oriented approach to work
- A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services or Police check
- Preference for candidates who are local.
