Responsibilities:
- Foster a learning environment conducive to outstanding educational practices.
- Establish clear objectives for teaching and learning.
- Assign tasks that engage and challenge students, maintaining high levels of interest.
- Set ambitious and appropriate expectations for student performance.
- Develop clear targets that build on previous achievements.
- Recognize students with special educational needs or exceptional abilities, ensuring their needs are met through tailored differentiation.
- Provide structured lessons that maintain momentum, motivation, and challenge.
- Utilize assessment effectively to enhance learning outcomes.
- Leverage performance data and key indicators to inform lesson planning and deliver differentiated instruction.
- Enforce discipline in line with the school's 'Behaviour for Learning Policy' while promoting punctuality, behavior, work standards, and homework completion.
- Employ diverse teaching strategies to:
- Align teaching methods with content, organize information, present key concepts, and utilize appropriate vocabulary.
- Implement effective questioning techniques, listen attentively to students, and address errors and misconceptions.
- Select suitable learning resources and develop study skills through the library, ICT, and other educational technologies.
- Evaluate the achievement of learning objectives and utilize this information to refine specific teaching aspects.
- Assess and provide feedback on student work at least bi-weekly, setting targets for improvement.
- Use performance data to guide planning and ensure continued value addition in learning and teaching.
- Systematically assess and document students' progress, maintaining records to monitor understanding, identify strengths and areas for growth, inform planning, and recognize achievement levels.
- Conduct assessments as required by examination bodies and adhere to departmental and school protocols.
- Prepare and deliver informative reports to parents.
- Participate in subject development by creating, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work.
- Stay current in subject knowledge through continuous professional development and professional reading.
- Attend relevant professional development workshops.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or Vice Principal.
Applicants must possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Art along with a teaching qualification.
- A minimum of two years of postgraduate teaching experience.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to holistic education.
- Recent and consistent participation in extracurricular activities.
- Respect for all members of the school community.
- Experience working with students for whom English is an additional language.
- A positive, solution-oriented approach to professional life.
- A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services or Police check.
