About This Role

Aldar Education is currently in search of an exceptional Teacher - Physics for the Middle and Senior School at Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi, with an immediate start date.

Mamoura British Academy follows the British curriculum and operates as a co-educational institution until Year 8, transitioning to a girls-only school from Year 9 onward. Situated in a modern facility in the center of Abu Dhabi, we are dedicated to achieving excellence through our high standards and our commitment to providing outstanding learning opportunities for our students. Roles and responsibilities include:

- Demonstrating excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.

- Professionally liaising with peers and exhibiting flexibility in the workplace.

- Collaborating with curriculum support staff (when applicable) to foster student development.
- Serving as a form tutor and addressing the pastoral needs of students.

A. Teaching and Learning

- Possessing a solid understanding of the British curriculum.
- Organizing classroom resources, learning materials, and creating displays that promote an engaging and positive learning atmosphere.
- Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons that accommodate the diverse needs of all learners, in line with the Learning and Teaching Policy.
- Inspiring and motivating students through dynamic and imaginative teaching methods.
- Observing and assessing students according to the Assessment Policy.
- Reflecting on classroom practices, lesson delivery, and student progress, and making adjustments to the learning environment, planning, and curriculum as needed.
- Ensuring that the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA attributes are integrated throughout the curriculum.

B. Assessment and Data

- Taking ownership of the progress of the classes taught.
- Meeting the assessment and recording requirements for tracking student development using the school's designated assessment system.
- Leveraging assessment data to inform future planning, provisions, and interventions.
- Being accountable to the Head of Department for the performance data of the classes taught and devising strategies for improvement.
- Providing updates to parents and caregivers regarding student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

C. Behaviour Management and Duties

- Adhering to the Behaviour Policy.
- Effectively managing classes using strategies that are appropriate to students' needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge them.
- Maintaining strong relationships with students, exercising appropriate authority, and acting decisively when necessary within the framework of the Behaviour Policy.
- Being a positive role model and consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviors expected of students.
- Upholding high expectations for behavior, promoting independence and self-control among all learners.
- Ensuring that the Mamoura Values DNA language and attitudes are integrated throughout the curriculum.
- Performing duties as directed in accordance with school policy.

D. Wider Professional Responsibilities

- Collaborating with the department team to support planning, assessment, resource management, and special events linked to that team.
- Assisting in organizing and participating in school events, outings, and activities that may occur on weekends or in the evenings.
- Communicating effectively with parents/caregivers regarding students' achievements and well-being through appropriate school systems/processes such as CPOMS.
- Making a positive contribution to the broader life and ethos of the school.
- Leading a weekly extracurricular activity each term.

Minimum Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

- At least 2 years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:

- An outstanding teacher.
- Experience teaching across a wide age and ability range with a proven record of success.
- Experience working in multiple International Schools is desirable.
- Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
