Position: Principal – International Secondary School (Grades 7–12) American Curriculum
The Principal will oversee the comprehensive administration and management of the secondary school, which encompasses Grades 7 through 12. Primary Responsibilities:
School Administration
•
Manage the daily operations of the secondary school.
•
Guarantee the consistent implementation of school policies, procedures, and regulations.
•
Oversee student discipline, attendance protocols, and behavioral standards.
•
Coordinate daily schedules, supervision assignments, and logistical operations for the school.
•
Supervise administrative and support personnel within the secondary school division.
•
Keep precise records regarding student behavior, attendance, and school operations.
•
Ensure adherence to school policies and compliance with local regulatory standards.
•
Lead staff meetings focused on operations, procedures, and school management.
Parent Communication
•
Act as the primary contact for parents concerning significant issues related to student behavior or concerns.
•
Serve as the point of contact for inquiries regarding school policies.
•
Hold meetings with parents regarding critical disciplinary matters, behavioral issues, or school expectations.
•
Share important updates, policies, and procedures with families.
•
Promote positive relationships between families and the school community.
•
Collaborate with coordinators and teachers to arrange parent meetings as necessary.
Teacher Supervision and Administrative Support
•
Oversee teachers to ensure compliance with school policies, professional standards, and expectations.
•
Conduct both formal and informal classroom observations, focusing on professionalism, classroom management, and adherence to procedures.
•
Offer constructive feedback and administrative support to teachers.
•
Manage teacher schedules, responsibilities, and duties.
•
Address performance concerns among staff and assist in implementing improvement plans when needed.
•
Facilitate faculty meetings and ensure effective communication with staff.
•
Support the onboarding process for new teachers and ensure staff familiarity with school policies and procedures.
Student Management
•
Supervise student discipline procedures and ensure uniform enforcement of school rules.
•
Manage serious behavioral matters and coordinate appropriate responses.
•
Establish systems for monitoring student attendance and behavior.
•
Collaborate with coordinators and teachers to foster student well-being and accountability.
•
Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related discipline.
•
Previous experience in school administration or leadership; familiarity with the American curriculum is an advantage.
•
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
•
Capability to work effectively with teachers, parents, and students in an international school setting.
•
Fluency in English as a first language or at a C1 level; working proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
