Bahlool British International School, a reputable British international institution in Baghdad, is on the lookout for skilled, British-trained educators to teach both IGCSE and A Level courses.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new Sixth Form (A Level), and we are searching for enthusiastic teachers to become part of our founding team. In addition, we are dedicated to enhancing and solidifying our successful IGCSE program, which has consistently delivered outstanding outcomes for our students.

Curriculum

The School implements the Pearson (Edexcel) British Curriculum for both IGCSE and A Level. Experience with Pearson / Edexcel specifications is highly preferred.

Subjects Required

IGCSE & A-Level:

• Chemistry

• Business

• Physics

• Biology

• ICT / Computer Science

• English

• History

• Geography

Candidates are welcome to apply for one or more subjects based on their qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional teaching for IGCSE and A Level (Pearson / Edexcel)

• Design and prepare lessons in accordance with Pearson specifications and assessment objectives

• Assist in the establishment and development of the new Sixth Form Department

• Contribute to curriculum planning, schemes of work, and internal assessments

• Ensure students are thoroughly prepared for external examinations

• Monitor student progress and offer academic support as necessary

• Uphold high standards of classroom management and professionalism

• Collaborate effectively with senior leaders and Sixth Form staff

• Engage in staff meetings, training sessions, and Sixth Form initiatives

Person Specification

• British-trained teacher with a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)

• Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject area

• Demonstrated experience teaching IGCSE and/or A Level

• Strong familiarity with Pearson / Edexcel examination boards

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Passion for contributing to the new Sixth Form

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a growing team

• Experience in international schools or Sixth Forms is a plus but not mandatory

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
