Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage and the English National Curriculum, tailored to cater to our diverse international student body. Secondary students are prepared for Cambridge University and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE and A Level examinations.

Our facilities are purpose-built and well-equipped, located in the prestigious residential area of Gubei, just 20 minutes from the lively Former French Concession district. With a capacity of 750 students aged 18 months to 18 years, we pride ourselves on creating a smaller, family-like environment. Currently, we serve over 400 students, with class sizes capped at 22 pupils, often smaller.

About the Opportunity

We are on the lookout for a Deputy Head of Primary to start in August 2026. This position is well-suited for individuals with prior leadership experience, including current Deputy Heads of Primary from the UK or abroad, as well as seasoned Key Stage Leaders or Primary Coordinators looking to step into a senior leadership role.

Our mission is to maintain small class sizes and low teacher-to-student ratios, creating a nurturing and individualized learning atmosphere where each child is acknowledged and encouraged to thrive. The successful candidate will assist the Head of Primary in leading a dedicated team of teachers, championing excellence in teaching and learning, and actively participating in our vibrant and caring school community.

Benefits

- Teaching positions are initially offered as a two-year contract, with the potential for renewal at the conclusion of this term.

- A competitive remuneration package that exceeds UK offerings, featuring low taxation, annual flights, a housing allowance, comprehensive medical coverage, and a relocation allowance to aid in your transition to the city.

- A bonus is awarded for each year of service, along with annual salary increases based on performance evaluations. The academic year comprises 180 days, with generous holiday breaks throughout the year, allowing staff to fully enjoy their time in Asia.

Qualifications

- We welcome applications from candidates who have experience in a UK school or an international institution delivering the English curriculum. Applicants must hold a relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and possess Qualified Teacher Status.

- As a British school focusing on the English National Curriculum for a diverse international student body, fluency in English as a first language is essential, and we will prioritize applications from native-level English speakers.
