Senior School Head of Maths
About This Role
About Role
Dulwich College Suzhou (DCSZ) is on the lookout for an inspiring and creative educator to join the Senior School team starting August 2025. This is an exceptional chance to influence the growth of our dynamic school in Suzhou, one of China’s most lively cities. At DCSZ, our Senior School caters to students aged 11-18.
Our School
Founded in 2007, Dulwich College Suzhou is distinguished as the premier international school in the area. We operate as a Co-Educational Day School, accommodating students from Age 2 to 18. Our diverse community comprises 800 students from over 30 nationalities, including 420 in Primary School (Nursery to Year 6) and 380 in Senior School.
Dulwich College Suzhou employs an academically selective approach and utilizes an enhanced British and international curriculum tailored to the diverse needs of our international student population.
In Primary School, we implement an inquiry-based British Curriculum. Students in Years 10 and 11 engage with the IGCSE curriculum, while those in Years 12 and 13 participate in either the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) or the IB Career-related Programme (IBCP). Our graduates progress to prestigious universities across the UK, USA, Canada, Korea, and globally. The average IB score for the Class of 2022/23 was 38.4, with a 100% pass rate, and 45% of our students achieved scores between 40 - 45. Notably, we have the highest number of bilingual diplomas in the group, showcasing our commitment to supporting non-native English speakers. This achievement contributes to our distinction as the first school in Asia to receive ‘Language Friendly School’ certification. In 2023, two of our students achieved ‘Top of the World’ IGCSE marks in Additional Mathematics and Chinese as a Second Language.
English serves as the primary language of instruction, supplemented by a dual language approach in Mandarin and English for early years (ages 2 to 7). To support our students’ success, we assess the English proficiency of non-native speakers prior to admission decisions. Our Mandarin program is streamed to accommodate all skill levels. Additionally, we recognize that language and culture are central to our students' identities, and we strive to create inclusive learning environments that honor the diverse linguistic backgrounds of our students.
Our academic offerings are enhanced by a variety of co-curricular programs. We emphasize a holistic education that balances academic excellence with tradition, innovation, sustainability, and community engagement.
