Math Catalyst
About This Role
Big River First Nation Education is looking for a Math Catalyst to join our educational team for the 2026-2027 school year.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Gathering resources to improve math instruction
- Incorporating Indigenous lifestyles and educational practices into the math curriculum
- Providing leadership and support through modeling and mentoring teachers in areas such as curriculum planning, assessment, and effective teaching strategies
- Leading professional development workshops for staff on curricular programs and assisting in the implementation of instructional programs as outlined by the curriculum
- Partnering with school personnel to explore a variety of math instructional methods
- Assisting students in developing targeted math skills related to numbers, patterns/relations, and spatial/shape elements of the curriculum.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills
- A Bachelor of Education degree along with a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate
- Ability to teach students with varied learning needs
- Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Curriculum
- Cross-cultural experience is a plus
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Capability to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must be able to demonstrate previous teaching experience, if applicable.
