Responsibilities:
- Deliver lessons that motivate students to excel and achieve their best outcomes.
- Collaborate and work as a team.
- Communicate effectively at all levels.
- Cultivate positive relationships with all members of the school community.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to design engaging lessons that adhere to the curriculum.
- Coordinate with colleagues and adapt as needed.
- Partner with parents to ensure the happiness and academic success of all children.
- Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff (when applicable) to facilitate children’s growth.
Teaching and Learning:
- Maintain a solid understanding of the curriculum.
- Organize classroom resources and create displays that foster a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver sessions that address the diverse needs of all students in the class.
- Inspire pupils through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching methods.
- Observe and assess students according to school assessment guidelines.
- Reflect on classroom practices, teaching sessions, progress achieved, and adjust the environment, lesson plans, and curriculum accordingly.
- Collaborate with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists as necessary.
- Ensure the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are integrated throughout the curriculum.
Assessment and Data:
- Take ownership of the progress of a class.
- Fulfill assessment and recording requirements for student development using Target Tracker.
- Utilize data from assessments to inform future planning, provision, and interventions.
- Provide feedback to parents and guardians regarding student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behavior Management and Duties:
- Adhere to the school’s behavior policy.
- Effectively manage classes using strategies tailored to students’ needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge them.
- Foster positive relationships with students, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary, following the school’s behavioral policy.
- Serve as a positive role model by consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviors expected of students.
- Maintain high expectations for behavior, promoting self-control and independence among all learners.
- Execute duties as directed in line with the school’s policies.
Wider Professional Responsibilities:
- Participate in a curriculum action group, contributing to planning, assessment, resources, and special events associated with that team.
- Assist in organizing and participating in school events, field trips, and activities that may occur.
