- Uphold and promote the GEMS Core Values and standards of excellence.

- Implement the designated curriculum, showcasing current and precise knowledge of subject matter.

- Create and deliver stimulating lessons that inspire students, developing and utilizing suitable materials and classroom environments that cater to diverse learning styles.

- Provide written documentation for lesson planning and preparation when requested. Maintain comprehensive records of curriculum plans, attendance, educational resources, assessment methodologies, and more.

- Consistently adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.

- Teach students according to their individual needs, employing effective teaching strategies that accommodate various abilities, including late entrants, ESL learners, and students with differing academic levels.

- Assign and evaluate student work, closely monitoring, documenting, and reporting on students' academic progress and achievements, using assessments to tailor the curriculum to meet individual needs.

- Demonstrate skillful use of media and technology within the classroom setting.

- Support the holistic development and well-being of students, providing guidance on educational matters.

- Engage with external stakeholders as required, such as representatives from the Ministry of Education.

- Participate in performance appraisal and management processes, along with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.

- Collaborate with colleagues to create and enhance teaching materials, resources, study programs, and pastoral care initiatives.

- Take part in and lead co-curricular and extracurricular activities as appropriate, fostering positive relationships through proactive leadership and sharing insights, materials, and experiences.

- Monitor and ensure safe and appropriate behavior among students, developing and implementing strategies to promote self-discipline and address disruptive behavior.

- Exemplify and champion cultural awareness and understanding while nurturing a passion for learning.

- Assist in organizing school events and functions, such as inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, and award ceremonies.

- Maintain regular communication with parents to promote the GEMS philosophy and core values, keeping families informed about student progress while respecting confidentiality regarding student matters.

- Show commitment and initiative beyond the regular work hours when additional effort is needed.

- Attend staff meetings and contribute to committees as required.

- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by direct and indirect reporting managers or supervisors.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
*Estimated range based on regional data averages.
