About This Role

Uphold and promote the ethos and standards of excellence as outlined in the GEMS Core Values. Deliver the designated curriculum, showcasing thorough and updated knowledge of both curriculum and subject matter.

Design and implement engaging lessons that inspire students. Develop and utilize suitable materials and a classroom environment that accommodates various learning styles. Provide written documentation of planning and preparation upon request. Maintain comprehensive records of curriculum and yearly plans, attendance, teaching resources, assessment plans, and more.

Ensure adherence to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct consistently. Teach assigned students according to their unique needs, employing appropriate teaching strategies that cater to different abilities, such as late entrants, ESL learners, those with lower academic performance, and gifted students.

Assign and evaluate student work. Assess, document, and report on students' academic growth, progress, and achievements, using assessments to tailor the curriculum to individual student needs. Exhibit proficiency in utilizing media and technology within the classroom.

Foster the overall progress and well-being of students, offering guidance on educational matters. Communicate with external parties, such as Ministry of Education officials, when necessary. Engage in performance appraisal and management procedures, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Collaborate with colleagues in the preparation and development of teaching materials, resources, curriculum studies, and pastoral arrangements. Participate in, and lead when suitable, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs within the school.

Encourage positive working relationships by actively sharing leadership, ideas, resources, and experiences. Oversee and monitor safe and appropriate student behavior. Develop and implement strategies to promote self-discipline and manage disruptive behavior.

Model and foster cultural awareness and understanding while instilling a passion for learning. Assist in the organization of school events and functions, such as inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, and prize days.

Regularly communicate with parents to promote the GEMS philosophy and core values, keeping them informed about students' progress while maintaining the confidentiality of student-related information. Demonstrate commitment by putting forth extra effort beyond the regular work day when necessary.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
