About This Role

Amity International School, Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint a committed, qualified, and experienced Higher Education & Careers (HEC) Counsellor for our secondary school.

To support the growth of our Senior School, we are in search of a Careers and University Counsellor. The successful applicant will have relevant experience and a strong desire to enhance the career services offered to our Secondary students, working closely with students, educators, and families. Our diverse community includes over seventy nationalities, and students at Amity have a broad spectrum of aspirations for their university futures. Our typical student is driven and hardworking, with high expectations for their educational journeys. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join Amity, and the ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about contributing to our mission of delivering outstanding, personalized university and career guidance.

We seek individuals who:

  • Have practical experience and up-to-date knowledge of UCAS
  • Are experienced in international university placements, specifically in the US, Canada, and Australia
  • Understand the global importance of A levels and BTECs
  • Collaborate with universities to organize higher education fairs and campus visits
  • Develop and oversee a careers curriculum for Years 7-13, partnering with the Deputy Head Pastoral and Heads of Year to incorporate career education into the KS3 and KS4 curricula
  • Assist Year 9 students with their GCSE subject choices and Year 11 students with their A Level selections, emphasizing future academic and career paths
  • Are familiar with career education platforms like Unifrog to support students in exploring their skills, interests, and career options
  • Build and maintain partnerships with employers to create relevant work experience opportunities
  • Organize guest speaker events to highlight various career paths
  • Maintain a strong alumni network

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
