Chief John Keenatch High School Div.4 Teacher
The Big River First Nation Education Department is seeking a high school teacher for a position that will last until June 2026. This role is located at Chief John Keenatch High School.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively deliver the educational curriculum as assigned by the Principal.
- Plan and organize class activities while considering the unique needs and differences of each student.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the development of programs and teaching activities relevant to the class and individual learners.
- Work alongside the Principal and peers to ensure effective classroom management and control.
- Execute assigned tasks within the instructional program in alignment with the educational policies set forth by the Education Committee and the relevant Saskatchewan Education Act.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Education degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Eligible for a Saskatchewan Professional “A” or Provisional Professional “A” teaching certificate.
- Possess a solid understanding of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples, incorporating their culture, values, and history into the curriculum.
- Maintain high standards and expectations for student academic performance.
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management abilities and utilize effective positive behavior management techniques.
- Adapt teaching methods and curriculum to accommodate and include students with special needs.
- Dedicated to fulfilling the entire school year.
- Compliance with the Fit for Duty Policy (Drug & Alcohol Testing).
- Provide a Clean Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check.
