Crofton House School is on the lookout for a skilled elementary school teacher to instruct French as an additional language. French is offered in the Junior School from Grades 1-7, with this role concentrating on students in Grades 5-7. You will join a collaborative teaching team that supports the positive growth and development of young girls within the Junior School.

Responsibilities:
● Create a warm and inviting atmosphere conducive to learning for young students.
● Teach French as an additional language in the Junior School, particularly for Grades 5, 6, and 7, establishing engaging and dynamic classes.
● Weave French culture into lessons.
● Ensure consistency in language learning competencies both vertically and horizontally across the Junior School while collaborating with colleagues.
● Collaborate with all Junior School teachers to meet student needs effectively.
● Differentiate language learning expectations for students.
● Utilize instructional technology to support learning.
● Implement the BC Curriculum for French as a second language, focusing on the Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling approach.
● Participate in the Junior School co-curricular program.

Requirements/Qualifications:
● Native-like proficiency in French (both oral and written).
● Familiarity with TPRS is advantageous.
● B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification.
● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
● Understanding of how to accommodate diverse learning styles at the elementary level.
● Energetic, collaborative, and passionate about teaching.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Proven ability to be innovative, flexible, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
● Energy, dedication, and willingness to engage in the co-curricular program and the diverse life of the school community.

Compensation

Β£30,000 - Β£45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
