With the growth of our school, the successful applicant will guide the ongoing development of the Secondary phase (Years 7–13), which includes the introduction of IGCSE and A Level pathways and the creation of a small boarding provision for up to 30 students. This position presents a unique chance to influence the academic and pastoral identity of a burgeoning international senior school.
The Role
The Head of Secondary School will collaborate closely with the Headmaster and the senior leadership team to manage all facets of the Secondary phase.
Key responsibilities encompass:
• Overseeing the academic, pastoral, and operational advancement of the Secondary School (Years 7–13)
• Ensuring excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment across all disciplines
• Supporting the creation of a comprehensive and well-rounded curriculum that adheres to British educational standards
• Preparing students for successful outcomes in IGCSE and A Level examinations
• Leading and nurturing a team of skilled international educators
• Fostering a robust culture of safeguarding, wellbeing, and student achievement
• Assisting in the development and management of the school's boarding provision for up to 30 students, ensuring exceptional pastoral care and integration with the day school
• Contributing to the strategic growth of the school as it enhances its Secondary and boarding offerings
The Ideal Candidate
We seek a dedicated and seasoned educational leader who:
• Has substantial experience teaching in the Secondary phase at a British or international school
• Holds leadership experience (e.g., Head of Department, Assistant/Deputy Head, or similar)
• Exhibits a strong understanding of IGCSE and A Level pathways
• Is passionate about academic excellence and holistic student development
• Has the ability to inspire staff, students, and parents within a developing school community
• Values collaboration, initiative, and professional integrity
Experience with boarding schools or boarding provisions would be a notable advantage.
