A Bachelor's degree (not a Master's) in Special Education, which must have included at least one assessed teaching practice in a school setting for grades 7 to 12.

Inspired by this quote from the Baha'i Writings, our Special and Inclusive Education program recognizes the immense potential within every individual. Our mission is to discover and cultivate this potential in each student.
Our Special Education program provides customized, individualized learning plans for students with autism, Down’s syndrome, or other mental or physical challenges. With a team of four or five teachers catering to eight students, we create a nurturing and enriching environment. Our offerings include personalized academic teaching, life skills development, community engagement, and targeted inclusion, along with speech therapy when necessary.
We embrace an Inclusive model of education, supporting over twenty-five K-12 students with special educational needs, including those with dyslexia and difficulties in memory or attention. Four resource teachers employ various strategies to ensure that our inclusive students can participate in mainstream learning activities.
WORKING HOURS AND SCHEDULE
Teachers work a total of 36 hours each week, which includes up to twenty 45-minute teaching sessions, along with various responsibilities and dedicated planning time.
Throughout the year, there are approximately 30 days of holidays in Macau and at the school, including breaks for Winter and the Chinese Spring Festival, along with about 50 summer vacation days. Monthly working Saturdays—often focused on community engagement and extension activities—allow us to enhance our holiday schedule while fulfilling contact day requirements.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The annual base salary, inclusive of housing allowance, is around US$44,000 after tax, with incremental increases based on years of experience. This figure does not encompass the annual travel allowance, New Year’s bonus, pension contributions, and a yearly re-enlistment bonus equivalent to one month’s salary. Additionally, the Macau government generously offers a professional development subsidy for teachers of at least US$600 per month. Altogether, the after-tax total compensation for teachers is approximately US$58,000.
Benefits include local healthcare coverage, reduced tuition for up to two dependents attending the school, opportunities for internal professional development, and assistance in apartment hunting, which includes a one-week hotel stay.
