Responsibilities:

• Foster an environment conducive to exceptional Learning and Teaching
• Define clear teaching objectives and outline methods for instruction and assessment
• Assign tasks that engage students and sustain high levels of interest
• Establish clear targets that build upon previous achievements
• Recognize students with special educational needs or exceptional abilities
• Provide structured lesson plans that maintain pace, motivation, and challenge
• Utilize assessments effectively to ensure comprehensive coverage of study programs
• Use performance data and key indicators to inform lesson planning, delivering differentiated learning tailored to needs
• Ensure effective teaching practices and optimal use of instructional time
• Maintain a productive learning atmosphere in line with the academy’s protocols, encouraging punctuality, behavior, work standards, and homework completion
• Ensure that students acquire and consolidate relevant knowledge, skills, and understanding for the subject taught
• Ensure the efficient deployment of classroom support resources
• Evaluate the achievement of learning objectives and leverage insights to enhance specific teaching aspects
• Assess and provide feedback on students' work while setting progress targets
• Use performance data to guide planning, ensuring that Learning and Teaching continue to 'add value'
• Systematically assess and document students' progress, maintaining records to monitor understanding and completion, identify strengths, and address areas for improvement
• Conduct assessments as requested by examination boards, departmental, and academy protocols
• Participate in subject-specific or academy-wide initiatives, developing plans with clear targets and success criteria for improvement or maintenance
• Contribute to the overall vision and strategic planning of the academy
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and academy policies regarding safe working practices and equal opportunities
• Engage in annual training related to child protection, safeguarding, health, and safety, along with any other training relevant to academy improvement or performance management
• Maintain knowledge of teachers' professional responsibilities and legal obligations
• Operate consistently within the academy's established policies and practices
• Possess subject matter expertise to facilitate effective teaching
• Build effective working relationships and exemplify professionalism through presentation and conduct
• Strive to provide every child with the opportunity to reach their full potential while meeting high expectations
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective resource sharing for the benefit of the academy, department, and students
• Participate actively in the corporate life of the academy through effective involvement in meetings and management systems that support leadership and management
• Engage in marketing and outreach activities such as Open evenings/afternoons, Parent-Teacher Consultations, and partnerships with other academies
• Take responsibility for personal professional development and adhere to academy policies and practices

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field along with a teaching qualification
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in the specialist subject up to GCSE and A Level
• Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language
• A strong passion for teaching and a commitment to holistic child education
• A high degree of professionalism and a focus on student well-being
• Recent and ongoing involvement in extra-curricular activities
• Respect for all members of the school community, regardless of position, gender, age, or ethnic background
• A proactive and solution-oriented attitude in the workplace
• A clear enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police verification
