Position Overview:

The Vice Principal (Primary) serves as the strategic and academic leader for the Primary School (Nursery to Year 6), functioning similarly to a Head of Primary role. This position entails overseeing standards, guiding staff leadership, and continuously enhancing high-quality teaching and learning, as well as pastoral care within a Catholic framework. We are looking for a dedicated Catholic leader with a profound understanding of child pedagogy and extensive experience in leading primary teaching teams. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the effective management of the primary school segment (Nursery to Year 6).

The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic who embodies Christ-centered values, leading by example and integrating faith with all aspects of school life. We seek a passionate, highly motivated, and dynamic professional possessing excellent communication skills, who will play a crucial role in the seamless operation and ongoing growth of the primary school. Collaboration with the Pastor, Principal, and other senior leaders is essential to drive short- and long-term improvements for both the Primary School and the overall institution, reinforcing the school’s identity and values while ensuring academic excellence and faith-based principles are central to its success. Responsibilities include building upon current strengths and addressing areas for development identified in the last inspection report to align with the school’s vision for continuous excellence.

Qualifications and Experience:


Leadership and management credentials and/or relevant advanced degree qualifications, coupled with a minimum of 15 years of experience in primary education, including over 10 years in a senior leadership role within a Catholic school.


PGCE, QTS, or another internationally recognized teaching qualification.


Demonstrated experience in fostering a Catholic ethos in a school, contributing to school improvement, and mentoring other leaders.


Familiarity and experience with the UK National Curriculum, particularly in collaboration with Years N to 6 in curriculum development.


Strong understanding of current educational trends.


Current knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection practices.

Key Leadership Priorities and Responsibilities in Primary:

· Guide the strategic direction and daily operations of the EYFS/Primary School.

· Promote and integrate the Catholic ethos in alignment with the school’s mission.

· Lead school improvement initiatives based on the outcomes and recommendations of the recent inspection, while preparing for future evaluations.

· Ensure excellence in teaching, learning, pastoral care, and curriculum delivery (UK National Curriculum).

· Collaborate with senior leaders to develop a culture of accountability and growth among all staff.

· Manage quality assurance processes aimed at enhancing students’ academic progress and achievements.

· Work alongside educators and professionals to foster excellent teaching and learning practices, including support for students with additional learning needs.

· Create an inclusive Primary environment that supports all learners.

· Ensure effective systems for compliance with statutory and diocesan safeguarding and child protection requirements.

· Oversee operational practices that enhance learning and staff productivity.

· Lead the recruitment, retention, performance management, and professional development of high-quality staff, including developing leadership capacity among leaders and responsibility holders.

Salary and Benefits:

· Competitive salary ranging from CI$76,500 to CI$90,500 per annum, tax-free, based on experience and qualifications.

· Relocation allowance and end-of-contract repatriation allowance.

· Up to two free school places for an employee's child.

· Initial contracts are for two years, with the possibility of annual extensions by mutual agreement.

Compensation

$93,292 - $110,365 per year (Competitive salary ranging from $76,500 to CI$90,500 Cayman Islands Dollars per annum, tax-free, based on experience and qualifications)
