About This Role
Utilize various inquiry methods (such as open, structured, and guided) to spark students' curiosity and equip them with the skills necessary for developing their own understanding, fostering their journey to become independent lifelong learners.
· Instruct students on conceptual knowledge that transcends subject boundaries to help them grasp complex and overarching ideas. Thoughtfully design questions, inquiries, and provocations to enhance conceptual comprehension while linking content, skills, and concepts.
· Create contextualized, real-world learning opportunities that enable students to relate new information to their personal experiences (local context) and the broader world (global context), thereby nurturing international awareness.
· Engage in collaborative, intentional, and ongoing planning to support interactive and cooperative learning experiences. These experiences should promote effective dialogue and feedback and be data-driven to adaptively address students' needs.
· Collaborate with colleagues to accommodate student diversity by enhancing self-esteem, valuing existing knowledge, providing scaffolding, and challenging all students with meaningful and respectful work.
· Design, organize, and execute ongoing assessments alongside students and colleagues to monitor, document, measure, and report on learning progress. Utilize “Assessment as and for Learning” data to inform teaching adjustments.
· Teach with an emphasis on approaches to learning skills by identifying the specific skills and dispositions being targeted. Explicitly instruct students in the strategies and techniques necessary for processing information, thereby encouraging the transfer of skills and self-regulation.
· Seamlessly incorporate technology to enrich students' learning experiences. Continuously reflect on the rationale and methods of technology use while maintaining digital integrity.
· Facilitate and support students' language development by tapping into their prior knowledge and building foundational understanding, scaffolding language acquisition, extending language use, and affirming their identities.
· Strategically plan to empower learners to adopt sustainability principles and navigate complex systems, enabling them to initiate or advocate for actions that restore and maintain ecosystem health, while promoting equity and envisioning a sustainable future.
· Actively participate in professional inquiry (including PLCs, action research, workshops, study groups, critical friends, and data teams) to continuously reflect on practices and enhance learning outcomes for all students.
· Engage in self-reflection by assessing your beliefs about professional responsibilities to act with integrity and transparency, foster learning communities, and honor and uplift organizational, local, and global cultures.
