TEACHER OF SCIENCE (0.6 FTE)
Required from 1st September 2026: Governors are seeking to appoint an inspiring Teacher of Science who will enjoy being part of a collaborative and dedicated team that work with integrity together.
You will join a large team of specialist staff, dedicated to excellent teaching and learning. The role will mainly be focused on the teaching of Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential of teaching up to A Level. Teaching at KS3 will focus on general science. Most teachers teach within their specialist areas at KS4 and 5. We will be interested to read about your specialism and experience within your letter of application, to discuss further at interview.
The successful candidate will: o Be willing to work hard, be kind and make a difference o Have a good honours degree in a relevant subject o Be an excellent classroom teacher with the ability to inspire pupils about Science o Identify knowledge gaps and devise effective intervention strategies o Provide feedback to pupils about their learning and how to improve o Use data effectively to track the progress of pupils o Be passionate about working at The Deanery and fully support our Christian ethos o A dedicated, enthusiastic and highly professional staff team o A professional working environment in which all staff are valued, listened to and able to fully use their gifts and talents o ‘Warm and strict’ behaviour systems, meaning pupils can learn and teachers can teach o A comprehensive induction programme o A professional working environment in which all staff are valued and listened to o A bespoke CPD programme for all staff, including access to the full suite of NPQs The post is covered by the Protection of Children Act and is therefore subject to an enhanced DBS check.
