The Role
Whareorino School is a small, well-resourced rural school on the West Coast, within the Tainui rohe of Ngāti Maniapoto. Located 90 minutes from Te Kuiti and two hours from New Plymouth, we cater for Years 0–8 and currently have a roll of eight ākonga across Years 1–5.
We seek a flexible, engaging and adaptable NZ registered teacher to provide principal release (0.3 FTTE). Some flexibility in days is available by agreement.
Key Responsibilities
- Confidently work in a multi-level classroom.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with ākonga.
- Ground teaching and learning in structured literacy and structured mathematics.
- Implement a localised curriculum, including Enviroschools and Garden to Table.
- Value relationships, resilience, and reflection in the learning process.
- Connect learning to our unique rural and coastal environment.
Qualifications
- NZ registered teacher.
- Experience in multi-level classrooms is preferred.
What We Offer
Terms and conditions, including base salary and isolation allowance (pro-rated), are in accordance with the relevant collective agreement.
