Position Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Middle School Counselor to become part of our committed team starting in August 2026. This role presents a wonderful opportunity for a counselor who is dedicated to education and excited to support the academic achievements of our students.

Job Purpose:

To organize and deliver academic, personal, social, and emotional counseling for students.

Job Scope:

You will be primarily responsible for creating and executing a counseling program that aligns with the needs of the school and its students, facilitating their success in various aspects of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and promote the ethos and standards of excellence as outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
  • Develop procedures and timelines to offer students academic, personal, social, emotional, and psychological counseling.
  • Oversee the transition process for students.
  • Create protocols for obtaining external support for students facing personal and emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to design experiences and activities that enhance students' holistic development, fostering responsibility, leadership, cooperation, and other personal and social skills.
  • Keep detailed student records related to progress, achievements, activities, and interests, utilizing all available data to monitor student development.
  • Develop proactive guidelines and procedures to address bullying.
  • Implement and manage appropriate testing programs to assess student aptitude and achievement.
  • Set up systems to promptly inform parents about any issues regarding class performance, schoolwork, or behavior.
  • Ensure adherence to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
  • Demonstrate initiative and dedication beyond the standard workday when additional commitment is necessary.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as required.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by direct and dotted line managers/supervisors.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
