Aldar Education is actively looking for a Head of Creative and Performative Arts for Noya British School in Abu Dhabi, with the position starting in the Academic Year 2026/2027.

Key Responsibilities


• Formulate and execute policies and practices for the department that align with the School's vision, mission, and dedication to achieving high standards in teaching and learning.

• Establish, oversee, and assess short, medium, and long-term development plans for the department.

• Utilize data effectively to identify students at risk of underachievement in the department and devise action plans to support their needs.

• Analyze and interpret relevant school data, as well as research and inspection findings, to guide policies, practices, expectations, targets, and teaching methodologies.

• Ensure the development and ongoing evaluation of appropriate schemes of work for all year groups and courses, catering to the needs of SEN, G&T, and EAL students.

• Guarantee curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression within the department for all students, including those with special educational needs and those of high ability.

• Assess the quality of teaching and learning within the department, using findings to identify effective practices and areas needing improvement; take actions to enhance the overall quality of education.

• Contribute to the school's CAS Programme by leading or supporting one after-school activity each term (CAS includes I/GCSE and IB DP Revision/Booster Sessions).

• Serve as an Academic Mentor and Extended Essay Supervisor for Year 12/13 students.

• Fill in for absent colleagues and oversee examinations as required, including participating in at least one evening and one weekend external examination session, in support of the Examinations Officer and Summer Examination Schedule.

• Undertake any additional responsibilities as directed by the Principal.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject area, accompanied by a PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Required Experience:

• At least 6 years of experience teaching the English National Curriculum.

• Previous experience working with students for whom English is a second language.

Specific Knowledge & Skills:

• A passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering the holistic development of each child.

• A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police clearance.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
