About This Role

We are excited to announce openings for qualified English-speaking KS1 Teachers to join British Education Korea for the academic year beginning in August 2026. This position is ideal for educators with experience in Key Stage 1 (KS1).

Candidates must possess a recognized teaching qualification, such as a teaching degree, PGCE, or its equivalent. Prior experience in a Primary or KS1 setting is strongly preferred.

Job Description

We are looking for passionate and committed KS1 Teachers to become part of our expanding team. In this role, you will engage with young learners at the onset of their educational journey, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth through inquiry-driven and play-based learning.

Teachers collaborate closely within the KS1 team and benefit from the support of a dedicated Korean bilingual teacher. This collaboration ensures effective classroom assistance, cultivating a nurturing learning environment that honors both English-language immersion and the local culture.

You will be tasked with establishing a secure, stimulating, and inclusive atmosphere where children can build confidence, curiosity, and a passion for learning, adhering to the NCE (National Curriculum of England) framework.

Key Responsibilities



Design, plan, and implement engaging lessons and activities tailored to KS1, consistent with the NCE framework.


Foster a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment that promotes early childhood development.


Monitor, assess, and record student progress using assessments appropriate for KS1.


Encourage pupils’ social, emotional, and personal growth, promoting independence and positive behavior.


Collaborate with colleagues, including bilingual teachers and support staff, to ensure a unified learning experience.


Maintain effective and professional communication with parents about student progress and well-being.


Participate in school events, professional development initiatives, and engage with the broader school community.


Adhere to and actively endorse the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies.

Qualifications and Experience:


A Bachelor’s degree.


A recognized teaching qualification, such as a B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent.


Experience in a Primary or KS1 environment is highly desirable.


Strong knowledge of child-centered, play-based learning methodologies.


Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.


A dedication to ongoing professional development.


A genuine enthusiasm for working with young children.

Working Hours

The standard working day is from 8:15 am to 4:30 pm. All full-time staff members must be present on campus during working hours unless they have received specific authorization from the Headteacher or are engaged in approved activities. Staff members have a 60-minute break.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
