RAK Academy AL Hamra:

Situated in the southern region of Ras Al Khaimah within the Al Hamra community, RAK Academy – Al Hamra is an evolving primary and lower secondary institution delivering an adapted UK National Curriculum from Pre-K to Grade 8, along with UAE MOE subjects. Our new secondary school, encompassing Grades 6 to 8, will welcome its first students in August 2026. We are accredited by British Schools Overseas (BSO), benchmarked against leading international British institutions, and are equipped to fully deliver the ECT induction for teachers.

The Role (Founding Position):

RAK Academy – Al Hamra is on the lookout for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and inspiring Secondary Arabic A Teacher to help create a top-notch Arabic program within our newly established secondary school. This pioneering role presents a unique chance to influence curriculum design, departmental culture, language proficiency pathways, and teaching standards as we open our doors for the first time in August 2026.

As a founding teacher, the Secondary Arabic A Teacher will:


Deliver stimulating and challenging Arabic A lessons for Grades 6–8


Aid in the creation and execution of the Arabic A curriculum


Foster a robust culture of Arabic literacy, fluency, and appreciation for Emirati and Arab heritage


Support enrichment initiatives such as reading programs, debate clubs, and cultural events


Collaborate with the Head of Arabic and primary Arabic leads to ensure smooth continuity and progression


Participate in curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental growth


Teach across multiple key stages as the school expands

Essential



Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Studies or a related field.


Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). 


Familiarity with the Ministry of Education curriculum for Arabic A. 


Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning practices. 


Highly skilled in leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning. 


Engage, inspire, and support students.  


Reflective practitioner with creative thinking and innovative skills. 


Positive and enthusiastic team member with a growth mindset. 


Willingness to actively participate in extracurricular activities. 


Excellent communication abilities. 


Experience teaching GCSE/IGCSE/A-Level courses (Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply).

Desirable



Trained in the UK Curriculum or International Baccalaureate. 


Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes.


Experience in contributing to or leading curriculum development.
