About This Role
We are looking to recruit a committed and passionate part-time Support for Learning Assistant (0.8 FTE) to become part of our team. In this role, you will assist class teachers in delivering lessons to a diverse group of learners, work with small groups to enhance literacy and numeracy skills, and provide customized support for children with various needs. Experience in supporting students with mathematics would be particularly beneficial.
Job Information
Salary: The expected salary range is £17,200 - £19,600 (actual salary), which equates to £21,500 - £24,500 on a full-time basis, depending on your relevant skills and qualifications.
Hours of Work: The position entails part-time hours, totaling 29 hours per week.

Newcastle School for Boys is an independent day school situated in the heart of Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne. Starting from September 2026, we will embark on an exciting new journey as The Newcastle School, welcoming girls into our community for the first time, while continuing the legacy of Newcastle School for Boys. Our institution provides a distinctive through-school education from Early Years to Sixth Form, ensuring a coherent academic path for every student.
From September 2026, girls will be welcomed into the Junior School and Sixth Form, with the rest of the Senior School set to follow in September 2027.
