We are now seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Maths Teacher (Maternity Cover)

The Maths faculty is committed to the very best learning at BVIS, working collaboratively to develop outstanding results for our students. Teachers look to develop not only subject knowledge, but also a love of Maths and problem-solving as well as their own pedagogical expertise. Our students regularly compete in Maths competitions across Asia and achieve excellent exam results, this success is largely due to the dedication and hard-working nature of the faculty, something you would quickly become a part of.

You will be expected to deliver a bespoke KS3 curriculum based on the UK National Curriculum, IGCSE Maths and International A Level Maths. You will be a dedicated maths teacher who is always looking for ways to increase student progress from KS3 to KS5 and support this with excellent subject knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

As Secondary Maths Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to diverse student needs.

  • Plan creative, interactive, stimulating lessons that inspire curiosity and challenge students.

  • Maintain high expectations for all students and foster strong teacher-student relationships.

  • Integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning.

  • Assess student progress and provide clear feedback for improvement.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of learning and share best practices.

  • Participate in professional learning sessions and contribute to departmental development.

  • Communicate effectively with parents on academic and pastoral matters.

  • Involve in the organization and delivery of extra-curricular activities, school events and competitions.

  • Contribute to school blogs and maintain high-quality displays in classrooms and public areas.

  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards in all learning environments.

We will look to you to promote high expectations for our students by designing learning experiences that align with our school’s curriculum and meet their individual needs, while fostering a classroom culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved. You will also play a key role in building an environment of respect within the classroom and across the department, working collaboratively with all stakeholders.
