About This Role

PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER LIBRARIAN

Dulwich College Seoul is a vibrant, high-achieving institution that presents teachers with an exceptional opportunity to work within a purpose-built, well-resourced environment located in one of Asia’s most exciting cities. In collaboration with Dulwich College London and its sister schools in China and Singapore, Dulwich College Seoul maintains the traditions and exemplary educational standards that define the Dulwich legacy.

Currently, the College has reached its licensed capacity of 700 students. We provide an internationally adapted British National Curriculum from Early Years through Year 9, followed by the IGCSE program for Years 10/11 and the IB Diploma Programme for Years 12/13. We invite talented educators to apply, regardless of their prior curriculum experience.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Primary School Teacher Librarian will be situated in our newly established Primary Inquiry Hub, which serves as the core of inquiry-based learning within our school. This hub includes areas for individual study, small group collaboration, and class activities, enabling interaction with the PS Teacher Librarian and other staff members. The facility features book displays, shelving for our extensive library collection, circulation desk, storage, technological workspaces, and presentation zones, all within a spacious and well-lit atrium.

As both an educator and an information manager, the Primary School Teacher Librarian merges knowledge from these domains. This role requires familiarity with the Primary School curriculum, teaching methodologies, and learning preferences, alongside expertise in resource management, information services, and systems for accessing information, including technology integration. The PS Teacher Librarian plays a pivotal role in the design, support, and implementation of the curriculum. Collaborating with educators and students, the role emphasizes facilitating an inquiry-based learning approach, particularly in Integrated Curriculum subjects (humanities and science), which has been a significant focus since August 2020. The PS Teacher Librarian works closely with the Deputy Head of Primary (Academic) and Integrated Curriculum Lead in this ongoing developmental process. Please refer to the attached Job Description for further details.
