JOB PURPOSE
Aiglon College is a distinguished international boarding school in the Swiss Alps, known for providing a challenging and transformative holistic education in a safe, nurturing environment. Accredited by CIS, our school serves 480 students aged 7-18 from 70 different countries. Our distinctive learning philosophy is evident from the Junior School through to the Senior School, where students are prepared for Cambridge IGCSEs and the IB Diploma Programme.
We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant from August 2026, who will work closely with a senior school student with a neurodiverse learning profile. This position will focus on assisting the student in accessing the curriculum, developing organizational skills, fostering independence, and promoting social-emotional well-being within the senior school context.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with teachers, the Learning Support team, pastoral staff, and parents to ensure the student is fully engaged in both academic and community aspects of school life. Experience working with neurodiverse learners (such as those with Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, executive functioning differences, or other specific learning needs) is highly advantageous.
The role is expected to involve 25-35 hours of support each week and is term-time only.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide individualized support in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis to enable the student to access the curriculum and participate actively in learning activities.
- Develop a positive, respectful, and supportive relationship with the student, fostering confidence, independence, and self-advocacy.
- Assist the student in building effective organization, planning, and executive functioning skills, including time management and task prioritization.
- Help the student understand instructions, break tasks into manageable steps, and maintain focus during lessons when appropriate.
