Head of English and MFL (ESL, IGCSE & IB DP)

Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Science, in collaboration with King’s College School, Wimbledon, and Nanjing Foreign Language School, is on the lookout for a Head of English & MFL (ESL, IGCSE, and IB DP) to oversee our High School language department, which includes English, ESL, and Modern Foreign Languages (like French, Spanish, and others) starting in August 2026.

The ideal candidate will provide both strategic and academic leadership, ensuring outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment across the IGCSE and IBDP programs. Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Science was established with significant backing from the local government of Wuxi, through a partnership with two prestigious institutions: Nanjing Foreign Language School in China and King’s College School in Wimbledon, UK. Together, they aim to create a "school of the future," focusing on delivering a comprehensive education. The school commenced in September 2018 with an enrollment of 750 students and currently serves nearly 2,000 pupils. About you:

• Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Strong academic qualifications, such as CELTA/DELTA, a language degree along with formal EAL qualification, or another relevant degree.
• Passionate about teaching EAL learners across our age range (grades 9-12).
• At least 7 years of quality post-qualification experience, including IGCSE EAL.
• Proven ability to showcase significant student progress across a diverse range of EAL learners.
• Capable of demonstrating a methodical approach to lesson planning and assessment.
• Strong collaboration skills, able to establish rapport and communicate effectively in a Dual Language Immersion environment and multicultural contexts.
• Proficient in utilizing data to enhance teaching and learning.
