KS3 Maths Co-ordinator
About This Role
The Role
To coordinate provision and assessment in Maths at Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9).
Develop and maintain schemes of work
Create progress tests and mark schemes
Help to facilitate the marking of important tests
Ensure tracker reports are completed and respond to queries regarding KS3 teaching/tracker/grades
Monitor students causing concern and make interventions as required.
Support colleagues with the teaching of the syllabus.
Planning, preparing and teaching lessons at all levels, within the department, to reflect individual student needs.
Reviewing teaching strategies in light of individual’s progress and carrying out assessments.
Discharging a duty of care to all students in the school and carrying out supervisory duties as reasonably directed.
Taking a pastoral responsibility for students, including monitoring their academic and social progress, writing all reasonably requested reports and working effectively, as appropriate, with Heads of Year and the SENCO.
To be aware of, and operate within, all policies relating to student welfare and guidance, especially in the area of Child Protection.

Dynamic, energetic department with excellent examination excellent and the subject enjoys a high status within the school. Over 300 students study Mathematics in the sixth form of whom over 100 also study Further Mathematics. The school has a dedicated STEM block.
