About This Role
Doha Academy is a developing network of schools located in the vibrant capital city of Qatar. Established in 2000, it comprises three institutions and provides a KG-13 educational experience based on the British curriculum as well as the Qatar national curriculum. The mission of the Academy is to cultivate globally-minded, lifelong learners through a diverse educational framework rooted in local cultural values and traditions.
As a forward-thinking organization overseen by Al Faleh Educational Holding, which includes AFG College in partnership with the University of Aberdeen, Doha Academy offers remarkable career advancement opportunities for staff who are ambitious, innovative, and focused on student-centered decision-making.
With our expansion, we are eager to connect with qualified and experienced educators who view teaching as a calling. Along with a Bachelor’s degree in your teaching subject, candidates must also hold a recognized initial teacher training qualification. Early applications are highly encouraged.
This is a thrilling opportunity to join the Academy. Doha Academy received full Qatar National Schools’ Accreditation (QNSA) in early 2022 and was granted full international accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in November 2022, embarking on our premier “ACE Learning” pathway.
Interviews will be conducted either in-person in Doha or online for applicants from abroad.
The school is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, expecting all staff and volunteers to uphold this commitment.
Our compensation package includes:
- A competitive, tax-free salary
- Annual return flight to your home country
- Complimentary bus transportation to and from school
- A fully furnished two-bedroom apartment with shared lounge and kitchen, plus on-site security
- Medical insurance
- A two-year renewable contract
- End of service gratuity
Couples who teach are warmly invited to apply. We do consider newly qualified teachers (NQTs) or early career teachers (ECTs), although we currently do not offer an ECT support program.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- A strong passion for their subject and effective teaching methods
- A commitment to meeting the needs of all students
- Adaptability to expatriate life and resilience
- A positive, collaborative attitude
- Cultural sensitivity and respect
