Job Description
Implement the specified curriculum while demonstrating thorough and current knowledge of the subject matter. Design and deliver engaging lessons that inspire students. Develop and use suitable materials and create a classroom atmosphere that accommodates various learning styles. Provide written documentation of planning and preparation when requested. Maintain accurate records of the curriculum, yearly plans, attendance, teaching resources, assessment strategies, etc. Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
Instruct students based on their individual needs using appropriate teaching methods that cater to diverse abilities, including late entrants, ESL learners, those with lower academic performance, and gifted students. Assign and evaluate work. Assess, document, and report on students' academic growth, progress, and achievements, utilizing assessments to ensure the curriculum aligns with each student's needs. Demonstrate proficiency in incorporating media and technology in the classroom. Encourage the overall progress and well-being of students while offering guidance on educational topics.
Engage with external parties when necessary, such as officials from the Ministry of Education. Take part in appraisal and performance management processes and ongoing professional development (CPD). Collaborate with colleagues to prepare and develop teaching materials, resources, course outlines, and pastoral support. Participate in and, when appropriate, lead co-curricular and extracurricular activities at the school. Foster positive working relationships through proactive leadership and sharing of ideas, resources, and experiences.
Supervise and monitor student behavior to ensure safety and appropriateness. Plan and implement strategies to promote self-discipline and manage disruptive behavior. Model and encourage cultural awareness and understanding while fostering a passion for learning. Assist in organizing school events and activities such as inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, and prize days. Regularly communicate and meet with parents, promoting the GEMS philosophy and core values while keeping them informed about their children's progress, respecting the confidentiality of student-related information.
Demonstrate initiative and dedication beyond typical work hours when extra commitment is needed. Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as required. Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by direct and indirect reporting managers/supervisors.
Skills Qualification:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Arabic.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
- A proven teaching background with at least 3 years of experience.
Skills:

- Strong classroom management abilities.
- Capability to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Up-to-date with innovations and technological requirements.
