About This Role

Job Overview

We are looking to hire a committed Teaching Assistant (TA) to become a part of our Prep School team (Year 1 - Year 6). The specific year group assignment will be determined later. This position entails aiding the Class Teacher in enhancing student learning and promoting the well-being of pupils.

About St. Julian's School

Our entire school utilizes Google Apps for Education as a platform for learning and administration, with all teaching staff provided with their own MacBook Air.

Since 1998, we have been accredited by CIS (Council of International Schools) and NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges). We are also an Accredited Member of COBIS, and our Head is an International Member of HMC (Heads' Conference).

Professional Responsibilities:

• In-Class Support:

• Collaborate with teachers to establish routines and set expectations.

• Assist the teacher in addressing individual student learning needs.

• Help implement differentiated lesson plans prepared by the teachers.

• Contribute to the creation of engaging learning materials and displays.

• Build relationships with students to promote their well-being.

• Apply effective support strategies to encourage student independence.

• Provide in-class access arrangements (e.g., reading, scribing).

• Pre-teach or re-teach concepts to small groups as required.

• Aid teachers in monitoring student progress and achievements.

• Cover classes during short absences (up to 3 days) with support.

• Holds a recognized Teaching Assistant qualification.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
