About This Role
Northview International School (NVIS) is on the lookout for a dedicated and student-focused Middle/High School Social Studies Teacher to become a part of our expanding international faculty in Doha, Qatar.
We are in search of an educator who is dedicated to providing students with significant learning experiences, while promoting critical thinking, global awareness, and civic understanding through the exploration of history, geography, government, and current global challenges.

The Role
The ideal candidate will teach Social Studies to middle and high school students, delivering interactive lessons that align with the American curriculum framework and promote a deeper understanding of historical and global contexts.
Key responsibilities encompass:

Designing and implementing engaging Social Studies lessons that adhere to the American curriculum
•
Employing student-centered instructional methods that foster inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking
•
Incorporating technology and various resources to enhance active learning
•
Evaluating and tracking student progress through both formative and summative assessments
•
Establishing an inclusive classroom environment where students feel both supported and challenged
•
Collaborating with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and instructional methodologies
•
Participating in the broader life of the school through extracurricular initiatives and community involvement
Qualifications and Experience
•
A Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies, Political Science, or a related discipline
•
A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
•
Experience teaching Social Studies at the Middle School and/or High School level
•
Familiarity with or training in an American curriculum framework
•
A commitment to student-centered learning and inquiry-based teaching
•
Strong skills in classroom management and communication
Experience in an international school environment is preferred but not mandatory.
