As a Class Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Upholding a high standard of teaching practice and professionalism.

• Fostering an engaging classroom environment that encourages active learning, both indoors and outdoors.

• Acknowledging and valuing each child’s social, cultural, and religious background, and modeling mutual respect and tolerance.

• Participating in the management of pastoral care, health, welfare, and behavior of all students, particularly those in your assigned class.

• Delivering lessons according to the school’s established policies and guidelines.

• Employing a variety of effective teaching and nurturing methods to ensure quality learning aligns with EtonHouse's 'Inquire-Think-Learn' philosophy and professional standards.

• Providing planning documents that outline specific learning objectives, differentiated tasks, additional needs, extensions, and assessments to the Principal or designated individual.

• Engaging in professional discussions with colleagues regarding students, while maintaining confidentiality about all information.

• Ensuring equal opportunities for all students, reflecting and celebrating diversity in accordance with the KSA Ministry of Education directives.

• Encouraging students to take pride in their environment and foster respect and concern for others, contributing to a caring school community.

• Overseeing all aspects of classroom management, including the upkeep of equipment and maintaining an organized, accessible classroom environment.

• Designing an engaging and thoughtfully arranged classroom that promotes independent learning with stimuli that reflect each child’s interests, developmental stage, and ongoing inquiries.

• Monitoring and documenting literacy, numeracy, and other developmental milestones in accordance with the school's literacy and numeracy programs.

• Collaborating with the Principal and staff in developing effective pupil assessment procedures and portfolios, maintaining accurate records of achievements, learning journals for each child, and preparing reports as needed.

• Recognizing the importance of documentation in our program and celebrating the process over final outcomes throughout the school.

• Regularly communicating with parents, both formally and informally, through various means such as newsletters, daily communications, arrival and dismissal updates, reports, and journals.

• Building positive, effective relationships with the parents of your students.

• Participating in school events and collaborative planning sessions.

• Guiding, motivating, and monitoring support teachers in fulfilling their roles.

• Assisting with the collaborative planning of additional workshops, holiday camps, and events.

As a Team Member, you will:

• Work collaboratively with staff during short- and long-term planning meetings.

• Share responsibility for displays and communal learning spaces throughout the school.

• Actively engage in school committees, sharing your skills and talents while promoting team growth.

• Lead year group meetings and collaborative planning/professional development sessions.

• Remain open to new ideas and support the school’s future development.

• Take part in appraisal procedures and in-service training that facilitate personal, professional, and career development for yourself and your associate teachers.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant professional teaching experience in early childhood education.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent from a recognized University or College, requiring at least 3 years of full-time study.

• Teaching Certificates, Diplomas, or other Teacher Accreditation courses and certifications are necessary if the applicant’s degree is not in Education.

• Knowledge of IB PYP and/or the Reggio Emilia approach, along with relevant training, is highly valued.

• A willingness to learn about inquiry-based learning is essential.

• Applicants must present original copies of their Certificates and academic transcripts for verification.

• International experience, particularly in the Middle East, is highly regarded.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
