About This Role

SNA-HCMC is seeking a qualified PYP Visual Arts Teacher to begin in AUGUST 2026. Applicants should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience teaching within the PYP framework. As we aim to enhance our Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) program, active participation in these initiatives is anticipated.

It is important to note that SNA-HCMC holds membership with CIS and is fully accredited by WASC, placing a strong emphasis on safeguarding and child protection during the recruitment process. Consequently, we adhere to the UN Convention on the Rights of The Child. Key Responsibilities:
• Understand, respect, and comply with SNA school policies, practices, and procedures.
• Engage in professional and effective communication with students, parents, fellow educators, and others.
• Promote and implement IB teaching and learning approaches (ATL’s) in daily instruction.
• Exemplify the attributes of the IB learner profile.
• Maintain a positive attitude, a growth mindset, and strong emotional intelligence (EQ).
• Support students during the PYP exhibition, where applicable.
• Collaborate with grade-level and cross-curricular teams to enhance the written and taught curriculum.
• Commit to ongoing professional development.
• Regularly communicate and collaborate with department colleagues regarding planning, assessment, parent engagement, subject organization, and classroom management, including behavior expectations and routines.
• Work with other school staff to foster social and emotional awareness.
• Actively participate in behavioral management and provide pastoral care for homeroom and other classes.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute constructively.
• Supervise students during breaks as needed.
• Organize class activities as required.
• Keep current records of assessments, attendance, planning, reports, conferences, and communications with parents through ManageBac and Classdojo/Seesaw.
• Engage with the parent community to keep them informed about student learning, encouraging participation in Parents as Learner (PAL) meetings, Student Lead Conferences (SLCs), PYP exhibitions, and PTA involvement.
• Serve as a resource and support for new staff members regarding curriculum, schedules, and procedures.
• Participate in school events as needed and carry out additional tasks assigned by the PYP Coordinator.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• A Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts and a recognized teaching certification; a Master's degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in an IB or international school environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the IB PYP frameworks and inquiry-based learning methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to create and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for diverse student populations.
• Strong skills in classroom management and student supervision.
• Proficiency in incorporating technology and digital tools into lesson delivery.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
• Creative, collaborative, and proactive contributions to school life and CCAs.
• Commitment to child safeguarding and the ability to provide valid background checks.
• Openness to participating in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student activities.
