About This Role
Position Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and certified educator to provide captivating instruction in both the German language and [another Subject], such as English, chemistry, biology, science, or another field. The perfect candidate will be an energetic professional who can nurture language development alongside subject-specific expertise, preferably in a bilingual or Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) setting. Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Teaching & Learning
•
Design, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in both the German language and [Subject], adhering to the school’s curriculum.
•
Adopt various teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and proficiency levels.
•
Merge language learning goals with [Subject] content, enhancing academic language skills within both areas.
•
Effectively leverage educational technology to boost student engagement and learning outcomes.
2. Assessment & Reporting
•
Create and implement formative and summative assessments to track student progress in both German and [Subject].
•
Offer timely, constructive, and actionable feedback to students.
•
Keep accurate records of student achievements and prepare detailed reports on student performance.
•
Evaluate assessment data to guide future teaching approaches and intervention strategies.
3. Classroom Management & Student Support
•
Foster a safe, respectful, inclusive, and engaging learning atmosphere.
•
Set and uphold clear expectations for student conduct and classroom procedures.
•
Recognize and address the individual learning requirements of all students, including those who need extra challenges or support.
4. Professional & Community Engagement
•
Work collaboratively with colleagues in both the Language and [Subject] departments.
•
Actively participate in departmental meetings, school-wide training, and professional development initiatives.
•
Communicate professionally and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress.
•
Engage with the broader school community by taking part in events, clubs, or committees.
Qualifications & Requirements
•
Education & Certification
•
A Bachelor’s degree in Education, German, [Subject], or a closely related area. A Master’s degree is preferred.
•
A valid teaching certification/license that qualifies you to teach both German and [Subject] at the appropriate school level.
•
Experience
•
At least 2 years of successful teaching experience in German and [Subject].
•
Demonstrated experience in bilingual education, immersion programs, or CLIL methodology is highly preferred.
•
Language Proficiency
•
Native or near-native proficiency in German (C2 level according to CEFR).
•
Professional proficiency in English adequate for collaboration, reporting, and communication within the school community.
•
Knowledge & Skills
•
Extensive knowledge of both German language pedagogy and [Subject].
•
Strong grasp of second language acquisition principles.
•
Exceptional classroom management, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
•
Technological proficiency with standard educational tools and platforms.
