Small enough to care, big enough to make a positive impact

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Science Faculty on a fixed term contract for one academic year from 1 September 2026. We are seeking a dedicated professional to deliver high-quality Science teaching across Years 9-13, making a tangible impact on results at both GCSE and A Level, with a specialist focus on Chemistry.

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Inspire students to exceed their expectations through engaging, practical-led learning.

  • Contribute positively to the upward trajectory of GCSE and A Level results.

  • Raise aspirations and support the individual progress of every learner.

Seaton Valley High School is a thriving 13-18 school with a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating and a steadfast commitment to excellence. As a relatively small school, we benefit from a strong sense of community where every student is known and valued.

Our Community & Values Students embrace our core expectations: be ready, be respectful, be safe. These values are deeply embedded in everyday school life, helping to create a calm, purposeful learning environment where all students can thrive.

We welcome applications from teachers at all stages in their career, including ECTs, if you share our values and want to become part of a school that puts students and learning at the heart of everything we do.

Visits to the school are also warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please contact us by email at vacancies@svf.org.uk to make an appointment.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced criminal records check is required for this post.
