About This Role
SNA-HCMC is looking for an experienced MYP Physical Education Teacher, to commence in AUGUST 2026. Candidates should already have a minimum of at least 02 years of teaching the MYP. Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) are an expectation as we move forward with developing our CCA program.
Candidates should be aware that SNA-HCMC is a member of CIS, is fully accredited by WASC, and therefore places safe-guarding and child protection at the forefront of recruitment. Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Physical & Health Education (PHE) lessons aligned with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework.
- Design a curriculum that develops physical fitness, motor skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle habits while fostering inquiry-based learning and reflection.
- Guide students in setting personal goals, evaluating performance, and developing Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills such as self-management, collaboration, and critical thinking.
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where all students are challenged to grow as balanced individuals.
- Assess student achievement against MYP criteria, providing meaningful feedback that supports continuous improvement.
- Integrate global contexts into lessons to help students make connections between physical activity, well-being, and the wider world.
- Maintain and organize PE equipment, gymnasium, and outdoor facilities, ensuring safe and effective use.
- Promote the IB learner profile attributes (e.g., principled, risk-takers, balanced) through PE instruction and student activities.
- Contribute to the school community by coaching sports teams, supporting inter-school competitions, and leading extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to ensure a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to student learning.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to IB MYP, physical education, and best practices in teaching and learning.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related subject required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Teaching license/ certificate required.
- In-depth knowledge of the IB MYP frameworks and inquiry-based learning approaches.
- Proven ability to design and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for diverse learners.
- Strong classroom management and student supervision skills.
- Skilled in integrating technology and digital tools into lesson instruction.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Creative, collaborative, and proactive in contributing to school life and CCAs.
- Committed to child safeguarding and able to provide valid background checks.
- Willingness to participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student activities.
