Responsibilities:
- Deliver the B.C. Mathematics curriculum using a student-centered, inquiry-driven, and collaborative approach
- Support the growth and development of individual learners through the Crofton House School Advisory program
- Collaborate and contribute positively as a member of the Mathematics department
- Build relationships with educators and staff throughout the school community
- Actively participate in the co-curricular program as relevant during the contract period
- Engage in school meetings and events, including professional development and planning sessions
- Create a constructive and supportive culture for learning
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:
- Required: B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification qualification criteria
- Relevant university qualifications, ideally at the graduate level (e.g., Bachelor of Education in conjunction with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Mathematics)
- Experience teaching Mathematics at the senior school level (grades 8 - 12)
- A solid understanding of current educational practices as outlined in BC Ministry of Education documents
- Familiarity with Advanced Placement courses and/or Calculus 12 is an asset
- Experience in an independent school environment is advantageous
- Knowledge of ‘Standards-Based Learning/Assessment’ is beneficial
- Understanding of the learning styles specific to girls and young women
- Collaborative, energetic, and passionate about teaching

- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Enthusiasm, dedication, and a willingness to engage in the diverse life of the school community
