About This Role
GEMS Cambridge International School in Abu Dhabi is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Math Teacher (KS3) to join our educational team starting August 2026. Overall Function and Purpose:
To instruct and educate students in accordance with the guidelines established by the National Curriculum Framework, under the supervision of the appropriate educational authority. You will be responsible for teaching and assessing students based on their educational needs, delivering the relevant curriculum, and ensuring that each student achieves academic success while actively contributing to the broader school community.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver the prescribed curriculum, showcasing current and accurate knowledge of the subject matter.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that promotes optimal student outcomes.
- Plan, prepare, and conduct lessons tailored to the diverse abilities of all students in the class.
- Teach based on the individual educational needs, abilities, and achievements of both individuals and groups of students.
- Contribute to and work towards implementing the school's development plan.
- Assign, correct, and evaluate the work completed by students, adhering to the school’s marking policy.
- Set high expectations for every student in the class, guiding them to realize their potential and maintain high standards in their workbooks.
- Assess, document, and report on the development, progress, achievements, and behavior of students.
- Analyze data to adjust classroom practices, ensuring that all learners reach their full potential.
- Provide or contribute to oral and written evaluations, reports, and references related to individual students or student groups.
- Engage in agreed-upon national frameworks for evaluating student performance.
- Support the overall progress and well-being of individual students, groups, or classes assigned to you.
- Offer guidance and advice to students concerning educational and social matters, as well as their future education and goals.
- Communicate, consult, and collaborate with fellow staff members, including those with special responsibilities, and with parents and guardians.
- Review and assess your own teaching and learning strategies, methodologies, and programs in accordance with the National Curriculum Framework to enhance classroom teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with the Head of School, Deputy Heads, Assistant Head Teachers, Heads of Years, and other educators to prepare and develop curriculum design, teaching materials, teaching programs, assessment methods, and pastoral care arrangements.
- Uphold high standards of professional practice and quality in teaching and learning the subject. Participate in reciprocal peer reviews and observations of classroom instruction by the Head of Year.
- Engage in ongoing professional development (CPD) opportunities and participate in action research initiatives.
- Maintain discipline and order among students under your care, ensuring their health and safety at all times.
- Report any concerns regarding student safety, whether emotional or physical, to the school safeguarding officer.
- Take part in staff, group, or other meetings related to the school curriculum or pastoral care arrangements to enhance organization and administration.
- Contribute to the professional growth of new teachers and student teachers in accordance with agreements with the Head of School.
- Provide necessary information and guidance to designated personnel within the school and manage all requisitions and arrangements related to your assigned subjects.
